Schattenreich compilations are perfect for those who are into gothic, rock and metal as well. On the fifth edition of the series, which is affilated with the German music magazine Sonic Seducer, all these genres are represented again.
Leandra is the first artist to be three times on a Schattenreich sampler with different projects; from her solo album 'Metamorphine' you can hear the duet with Sven Friedrich (Zeraphine) 'The art of dreaming', Jesus On Extasy with their single 'Stay with me' (Leandra on keyboards as 'Ophelia Dax') and she also contributed to the accoustic album 'Das weisse lied' from Letzte Instanz from which the song 'Unerreicht' is featured on this 2 CD compilation.
Most of the tracks are highlights from recent albums, like 'Testament' by VNV Nation, 'Wach auf' by Oomph, 'Sumer' by Qntal and 'Puppenspieler' gy Unheilig and there are also a lot of hitsingles included like 'Frozen' by Within Temptation, 'So klingt liebe' by And one and 'Flavour of the week' by De/Vision.
Some other bands on Schattenreich vol.5 are Lacrimosa, Nightwish, Asp, In strict Confidence (with the less recent track 'Engelstaub'), Eisheilig, Faun, the Rammstein 'sideproject' Emigrate and Paradise Lost.
